ILLUSTRATION

I use the technical skills I have developed to tell a story or evoke an emotion, using charcoal and graphite to give a photo realistic look to my drawings. This monochromatic medium focuses the viewer’s attention to the drama of light, shadow and texture without the added influence of colour.

I create both traditional and abstract art focusing on artefacts of Mexico. I draw inspiration from my country’s unique cultural heritage and am influenced by the works of renowned Mexican artists such as Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo and Orozco.
